A postural assessment, also known as a postural analysis or a postural alignment assessment, is an observational assessment that looks at a person’s overall alignment to assess the client’s body is moving and functioning, as well as how muscles and joints work together. The purpose of this is to observe the person’s posture, interpret any abnormalities and imbalances. The therapist assesses how those imbalances are affecting the way that the person’s body moves and functions.
